Welcome to the Larking Gowen
City of Norwich Half Marathon
30th edition - Sunday 23 November 2014, Norfolk Showground, start 11am
Welcome to the Larking Gowen City of Norwich Half Marathon, organised by the members and friends of City of Norwich AC.
First staged in 1985 by Duke Street Running Club, this race was originally based in the centre of Norwich - hence its name. Then in 1993 it moved to the Norfolk Showground on the western outskirts of the city and it's been there ever since.
The race follows a fast rural two-lap route through the parishes of Easton, Honingham, Colton, Marlingford and close to Easton College. All public roads are closed to through traffic while the race is in progress.
This is a BARR Gold Grade event which over the years has become well-known for fast times, first class organisation and excellent value for money.
With extensive permanent facilities and car parking at the Norfolk Showground, lots of good viewing opportunities, prizes worth over £6,000 for the fleet of foot, chip timing, one of the best medals around and a decent goody bag for every finisher - it all adds up to a great day out for runners and spectators alike.
This year's race reached capacity on Friday 3 October when the last of the 3,150 regular places was sold. However, a few charity places are still available - please click here for more details.
